She's a Dream

Someone reached an important day!

She's a grinner. Everyone stops to tell me what a smiley baby I have. She grins at everyone and is usually content. She is a definite third child, though. When she does want something, there is no ramp-up, no warning, no quiet requests. She has a shrill scream or a loud fog horn. She needs it NOW! After her needs are met, she slips quietly into the background again.

She isn't quite walking yet. She can stand by herself and can walk quickly along the wall or furniture. She does NOT like walking with just your fingers. She will walk holding on to your legs, though.

She loves to babble. She has started to sing to herself when she wakes up. It makes me laugh. I love happy baby babble.

For her big day, we followed family tradition and headed to the park. She is a climber. She loves the steps and ladders of the playgrounds. Though she CAN go down these by herself, you rarely find her in the mood to do so. Unfortunately, they took down the playground in our neighborhood that had the best little kid slides. She likes slides but only if you start her halfway down.

Afterwards, we ended the day with a nice "relaxing" bubble bath.

Our little girl is quite the chunk. She's round and dimpled and we love it. She is a picky eater, though. Well, not so much picky as sensitive. She has a problem swallowing chunks. She loves them in her mouth, but she chokes half the time as they go down. And then they come back up, with everything else. :( But we keep trying. Occasionally she surprises us. Last night, for instance, she suddenly could handle peas. She ate two cups all by herself without choking. Weaning her showed us that she, like her sister before, can't tolerate plain dairy milk. After we finally figured that out, she had to relearn how to sleep through the night. Silly babies.

But we love our little Aislinn. She really is the dream we named her for.

Happy Birthday Aislinn! I LOVE those curls in back! Hoping that the weaning there is going better than here! I don't think Rachel can handle cow's milk either. What do you do for the girls? Walking is so close, then they aren't babies much anymore.

(I posted this the same time as Cambria I don't know why it didn' go through!)

Look at that happy smiling bright blue eyed Aislinn!! She's so adorable and that smile!!! I think her squealy screamies are adorable but that is probably because I don't see her 24/7, to you maybe not so adorable :o).

PS: girl looks GOOD in stripes :o)

Cambria can handle dairy as of age 2. Aislinn is getting soy milk because she can't handle any dairy at the moment. I would rather switch to yogurt and cheese, but we are still having issues
