Day 0

We're off! To celebrate our 15th anniversary, I asked Scott for a vacation that I didn't have to plan. We discussed some ideas, but I really didn't want to stress over details. He came back with a super cheap trip to China in the fall!

So, we packed up our bags and took off on adventures! Thanks so much to our parents who are holding down the fort and much love to our babies at home!

The first hiccup in our plans came last week when our visas were not issued. Oops! Flights and hotels but no permission to enter. We overnighted our passports to the consulate in LA and bit our nails as time ticked on. Friday at noon,  the doorbell rang. The FedEx guy might've been a little strained by my glee. They came! We could go!

So, here we are at Day 0, playing Yahtzee in the first airport and ready to roll! Don't mind my swollen left eye. I totally got attacked by a flying ant on my walk this morning. It should be a nice souvenir of this trip. I'm excited for my very first first class experience. Scott turned in his miles from all his work travel to get us some cushy seats the first leg. It will make the cheapest seats on the plane across the Pacific all the more... fun...

Dinner in LAX after mindlessly walking back and forth. Finally found the right terminal only to be told we couldn't check in for an hour. Every single chair and wall space was claimed by other similarly stranded travelers. Ah well, at least the food was edible!
